Inferna started in Chiang Mai from a recurring observation: learners who spent months on AI tutorials still struggled to build anything on their own. The material was fine. What was missing was structured time working on real problems with someone to help when things got stuck.
The school was set up to change that. Each programme is organised around a project that students build from scratch — not a demo, not a tutorial walkthrough, but actual code on actual data that produces a result they can describe and defend.
The name Inferna has no mythology behind it. It was chosen because it sounds like something that runs at depth. That's what the school is meant to do: go below the surface of AI tooling and into the mechanics of how it works.

Tawan Kasem
Spent several years working on applied machine learning problems in the logistics and manufacturing sectors before moving into education. Designs the ML and data engineering tracks at Inferna.
Niran Phothong
Has built image processing pipelines for agricultural and retail applications across Southeast Asia. Leads the Computer Vision Intensive and reviews all student project submissions.
Siriporn Rattana
Manages course structure, scheduling and student communications. Makes sure the pace and format of each track stays workable for learners alongside other commitments.
How We Approach Quality

Version-Controlled Curriculum
Course materials are maintained in a structured format and updated when the underlying tools or methods change in a way that matters to students.
Project Review Process
Student deliverables are reviewed against a defined rubric covering code quality, documentation, evaluation methodology and results interpretation.
Data Privacy by Default
Student information is handled with care. We collect only what is needed for the programme and do not share personal data with outside parties for any commercial purpose.
Structured Feedback Cycles
Feedback on project work is written, specific and tied to the student's own code — not a generic summary. Students know what to change and why.
Honest Scope Statements
Each track description says clearly what it covers, what prior knowledge helps, and what it does not address. We do not overstate what a programme delivers.
Iterative Improvement
After each cohort, the team reviews what went well and what confused students. Changes to materials and structure follow from that, not from assumptions.
AI Development Education That Stays Grounded
The landscape of AI tools moves quickly, and a lot of educational content chases that movement without giving students a stable foundation. Inferna takes a different approach: focus on the underlying methods — how data flows through a pipeline, how a model is evaluated properly, how computer vision systems are structured — and let the specific tools become secondary.
The coursework draws on practical experience working with AI systems in production contexts. That shapes what gets taught and how: the messy parts of data preparation, the difference between a model that works in a notebook and one that holds up on new data, the habits around documentation that make a project legible to others.
For learners based in Thailand or elsewhere in Southeast Asia, Inferna also offers something less common: a small programme where it is straightforward to ask questions and get a direct answer, rather than navigating a large platform with asynchronous forums and automated responses.
